The California solar energy market is booming, and German manufacturers are getting their piece of the pie. Within six years, the German solar energy sector saw its turnover soar. Schott Solar in Alzenau, near Frankfurt am Main, is one of the successful players.In May the company will open a factory in New Mexico employing around 1000 people. The openness of the new US administration toward solar energy is giving them great hopes. Schott Solar already has a big chunk of business in the US. The total revenue last year rose by about 70 per cent to 482 million euros. Made in Germany reporter Joachim Eggers took a look around.
