In the Old Testament, the year of Jubilee was celebrated every fifty years. During this time, all debt was forgiven, prisoners were set free and the land that had been repossessed was returned to its original owner.

But something greater than the year of Jubilee lay ahead. The prophet Isaiah declared, "The spirit of the Lord is upon me to announce a day when free favor of God profusely abounds". Many years later, Jesus quoted the same passage, but he said, "I'm here to declare that it has arrived."

We're not living in the day where Isaiah announced that the free favor of God was coming; we're living in the day where Jesus declared that it has already arrived. We don't have to wait for a once-in-a-lifetime flood of favor or thirty years to be blessed and set free; we can experience it now because of what Jesus has done.

When we live Jubilee minded, we can expect unusual things; acceleration, things to happen faster than you thought because Jubilee is not just a time of blessing, it's also a time of harvest. It's where you reap not only the seeds that you have sown, but the seeds of generations that have gone before you.

Start expecting God to act; not next year, not five years, not when you retire. Start expecting God to act this year. This is your year to be released to increase, to see acceleration and the free favor of God profusely abound.
