"Mon coeur s'ouvre à ta voix" is Dalila's third aria from the Opera, "Samson et Dalila" written by Camille Saint-Saens (1877). The libretto was written in French by Ferdinand Lemaire (after the Old Testament, Judges 14-16). The scene of this aria takes place in Dalila's house in the Valley of Sorek, Palestine around the year 1136 B.C.. It is night time. Five Philistine Kings have each pledged to give Dalila eleven hundred pieces of silver, if she can trick Samson into telling her why he is so strong. She agrees to the deal. This Aria is the seduction scene, where Samson finally reveals the secret of his strength to Dalila. She immediately sends a message to the five Phillistine Kings, that Samson has now really told her the truth about his amazing, physical strength. They come to her home once again, give Dalila her silver pieces and capture Samson. The Phillistine's immediately take out Samson's eyes and make him their slave and prisoner.
Dorothea Fayne (Mezzo-Soprano) sings Dalila's third aria, "Mon coeur s'ouvre à ta voix" at the Sesenheimer Strassenfest in Berlin (Charlottenburg). She is being accompanied by Zenta Yoshiizumi (piano).
