This video was made by Michael Wesch, Assistant Professor of Cultural Anthropology, Kansas State University. It presents a broad overview of the differences between the web 10+ years ago and the social web we know today (”Web 2.0″) — it focuses on how HTML was used for defining structure and stylistic characteristics (form), whereas XML has separated form and content, facilitating data exchange for all kinds of mash-ups. It also brings up a good point: who is going to monitor/control all the content on the Web? His theory- We will.
