The Irish folk song - I'll take you home again Kathleen - is a true story about German immigrants living in America in the 1800's. Thomas Paine Westendorf, the composer of the song, was very poor. He could not make enough money from his composing and music, but still his wife - Jenny - was longing to go home to Europe...

He had a real stroke of luck, when he wrote the song - I'll take you home again Kathleen - for her. It became a hit! He and his wife left American and returned to their homeland and friends in Europe...
